Sergei Naryshkin, "The debate should be conducted in Parliament, not in the sites"

Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation summed up the results of the sixth convocation, thanked his colleagues for cooperation and emphasized that the last five years have been the best in his professional career. Sergei Naryshkin is sure it was a very special and extremely important period not only for the Russian Parliament, but for the country and all around the world.

A difficult foreign policy situation and economic crisis gave impetus to the solution of internal problems. Laws aimed at improving the investment climate, deoffshorization, strengthened the role of parliament in the budget and tax policy. Deputies paid attention to the issues of import substitution and development of agrarian sector. The key remains the fulfillment of social obligations of the state. Minimum wage was increased, and the responsibility for the delay of salaries, extended periods of maternity capital program and free privatization of housing, adopted measures to promote sport and healthy lifestyle. Sergei Naryshkin said that the budget deficit makes spending reserve funds, and this creates a lot of difficulties for Russia as for the welfare state. The support of socially vulnerable layers of the population should remain the main in the allocation of any additional income.

The speaker speaking about the foreign policy of the State Duma noted that the period of the sixth convocation had the appearance and expansion of the Eurasian Economic Union. Deepening cooperation in the BRICS group of nations format - Moscow hosted the first Parliamentary Forum of the organization. Parliamentary dimension of the CSTO and the Union State of Belarus and Russia was seriously strengthened.

Speaking two days ago in the State Duma, President Vladimir Putin emphasized that the deputies greatly helped the return to Russia of the Crimea and Sevastopol - not only adopting 120 laws, but also moral support Crimeans in the realization of their right to self-determination. After the September elections, deputies from Crimea and Sevastopol for the first time will take place in the Plenary Sessions.

The speaker emphasized special thanks to the Staff of the State Duma, through which over five years have passed more than 13,000 laws and resolutions of 19,000 projects, appeals and applications.

Sergey Naryshkin thanked his colleagues for their active and very interesting work in the sixth convocation of the "respect for parliamentary traditions and commitment to the new one".
