Accounts Chamber of the PMR is 20

The Accounts Chamber of the PMR was formed on August 7, 2002. The law “On the Accounts Chamber of the PMR” adopted by the Supreme Council was signed on this day, 20 years ago. The department is the legal successor of the State Control Committee, which was headed by Andrei Manoilov, deputy of the Supreme Council of the 1st convocation. The Accounts Chamber notes that he made a serious contribution both to the formation of the Pridnestrovian state and to the organization of the state control system.

The continuity of generations, the professionalism of employees, their daily solution of tasks to strengthen financial discipline and ensure transparency in spending budget funds were discussed today in the hall of the capital's Palace of the Republic. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky, Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov congratulated the staff of the Accounts Chamber on the anniversary of its formation. Parliamentarians took part in the solemn meeting.

The Speaker of the Parliament noted in his speech that the main function of controlling financial discipline, legality and efficiency of the use of budgetary funds, state and municipal property, the Accounts Chamber performs perfectly.

The Speaker of the Parliament thanked the leadership and staff of the Accounts Chamber for their cooperation and emphasized that the philosophy of the control body today is to prompt and point out mistakes, correct the direction of targeted spending of funds. Alexander Korshunov considers that such a philosophy is an example for the activities of the fiscal authorities of Pridnestrovie.

The President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky addressed the staff of the department, who emphasized that the Accounts Chamber should also develop with the development of the state. It is important to use all modern technologies in your work. The PMR President paid attention to the topic of combating corruption and in this context wished the Supreme Council and the Accounts Chamber, which is accountable to the legislature, to strengthen parliamentary control.

Speaking about the results of the work of the Accounts Chamber, its head, Svetlana Izmestyeva focused on the figures. 763 control measures have been carried out for 20 years. More than 450 million rubles were returned to the budgets of various levels. Among the tasks of the Accounts Chamber are participation in the budget process, management of state property, analysis and control of pricing, verification of the financial and economic activities of the Central Bank, state and municipal organizations, control in the field of public procurement and the use of funds received as payment for housing and utility bills. The control body analyzes legislations submitted for consideration to the Supreme Council and decisions of local city councils for compliance with current legislation.
