The PMR Accounts Chamber will check the spending of funds to combat COVID-19

The PMR Accounts Chamber must conduct an audit of the spending of public funds during the pandemic - from March to December 2020, inclusive by April 2021. The control body will check the republican and local budgets and extra-budgetary sources of funding (sponsorship, charitable and other types of assistance). It will also appreciate state support in the sphere of taxation, concessional lending and other measures aimed at preventing the spread of coronavirus infection. The parliament adopted a draft resolution on the holding of such events by the PMR Accounts Chamber today in the course of online meeting.

The Accounts Chamber controls the transparency of spending public funds. This body carries out its work on the basis of legality, planning, objectivity, independence and transparency. It works closely with law enforcement agencies to identify and eliminate violations of the current legislation of the republic, compensate for material damage caused to the state and bring to justice those who violated the law.
