Tiraspol takes part in the "Garden of Memory" mass event

25.04.2023

Volunteers and activists of the "Renewal" Republican Party, employees of the Office of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, students and residents of Tiraspol took part in the large-scale environmental and "Garden of Memory" patriotic mass event. It is held in Russia for the third year in a row. The main goal of the action is to plant 27 million trees in memory of every one who died during the Great Patriotic War. "Green monuments" appear in all cities of Russia and abroad on the eve of Victory Day every year. 5 million people in more than 50 countries have taken part in the "Garden of Memory" patriotic mass event since 2020. More than 30 million trees have already been planted. The organizers say that this is not only the perpetuation of the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, but also environmental work – greening cities, restoring forest plantations and reducing the carbon footprint.

The mass event is traditionally held by the Renewal party in Pridnestrovie. The Victory Alley was laid last year in the Botanical Garden of the Pridnestrovian State University, where activists and volunteers planted about 30 seedlings of globular cherries and sequoias. This year, the project participants continued their work and planted about 30 seedlings of oak, Canadian maple and cersis (European crimson). All work was carried out under the supervision of specialists to ensure proper planting and care of the trees.

Everyone can join the "Garden of Memory" patriotic mass event. How to do this will tell the instructions on the official website. Activists of the “Volunteers of Victory” movement also planted trees in memory of the soldiers and officers who liberated our land from Nazi invaders in Pridnestrovie a week earlier.
