The head of the legislature, Alexander Shcherba, at the end of the working week held a reception of citizens on personal issues. Many Pridnestrovian pensioners are concerned about the length of service, amount of pensions, financial status of the fund from which they are paid, the pension system in Pridnestrovie and Russia as a whole.
The speaker discussed all these topics with Lyudmila Dementiyuk, a pensioner, a resident of Tiraspol. One of the reasons for the low level of pensions in the republic is that those who make tax deductions to the Unified State Social Insurance Fund are less than pensioners in Pridnestrovie. This is the essence of the solidarity pension system that operates in our country.
A certain help for our pension fund was the transition of Russian citizens who possessed Russian citizenship to Russian pension. This process lasts about three years. According to some reports, 16 thousand people have transferred to the Russian pension system. This to some extent facilitates the burden on the Unified State Social Insurance Fund.
In other words, if the Russian pension is less than a person would receive for the same length of service in the PMR, additional payments will be provided for him. In the period between the first and second reading of the law-in-draft, the government should make every effort to find additional sources of replenishment of the Unified State Social Insurance Fund in order to ensure the implementation of the law provided with financial resources.
