Members of the Presidium of the Supreme Council met for the first time in the new parliamentary season. It marked the beginning of the law-making at the end of the holiday season.

Within the framework of the meeting of the presidium of the parliament, members formed the agendas of the forthcoming plenary sessions in the near future. In particular, deputies of the profile parliamentary committee on agro-industrial complex issues recommend adopting amendments to the Land Code in the first reading. The author of the legislative initiative was the Prosecutor of the PMR, and the motivation for its development was the verification carried out by the agency. They were conducted last year with respect to compliance by the authorities with the requirements of land legislation in the provision of agricultural land and the allocation of land in the period from 2013 to 2016. The proposed changes are aimed at streamlining a number of relations in this sphere.
According to the chairman of the profile parliamentary Committee on Education, Science and Culture Mikhail Burla, the government submitted to the Supreme Council a law-in-draft on the functioning of the sphere of education. Its essence consists in compulsory testing at the place of distribution by a graduate of a higher educational institution, trained on a budgetary basis. Members of the responsible committee have questions to the law-in-draft. In particular, the head supposes that the implementation of the law, if adopted, will require additional financial resources (in the form of payments to young specialists so-called lifting, housing at the place of distribution), the government assures that no additional funds will be needed.
At the finish of the spring session of the Supreme Council, the deputies adopted the law "On Public Procurements in Pridnestrovie", important for the legal framework of the republic.
Adopted by people's deputies law was sent for signature to the president, but the head of state vetoed him.
During the meeting, a number of legislations related to the payment of compensation to disabled defenders for repair of vehicles previously provided to them were also discussed; implementation of the provisions of the law, according to which widows and parents of deceased defenders of Pridnestrovie are entitled to receive two pensions.
By decision of the members of the Presidium of the Supreme Council, the first plenary session of the autumn session is scheduled for September 12.
