Congratulations on Victory Day!

Dear participants of the Great Patriotic War, home front workers!

Dear Pridnestrovians!

I congratulate you on the great Victory Day on behalf of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and on my own behalf!

Victory Day is one of the most solemn and revered holidays. It is infinitely dear to our people, who defended the sovereignty of their country in the Great Patriotic War and made a decisive contribution to the liberation of Europe and the entire planet from fascist enslavement together with millions of Soviet people. Then the whole people stood up to fight the Nazis. History has never known such unity, such holy brotherhood, such powerful faith in victory. It was this national feat that decided the outcome of the entire Second World War and brought liberation not only to our country, but also to the world.

Decades pass, generations change, but the Great Victory – a symbol of national pride, military glory and valor – is forever inscribed in the heroic chronicle of the country.

Victory is unity. It’s amazing how this day binds together with an invisible thread all the heirs of the generation of winners who now live in different parts of the CIS. Our fathers and grandfathers laid the foundation for a unity that cannot be destroyed either by political unrest or by time, having protected humanity from fascism. Victory is not a simple historical date for all of us, but a spirit that fills our hearts.

Dear Pridnestrovians! Our civic duty on these special solemn days is to surround with attention and care those who, with arms in hand on the battlefield, forged Victory Day in the rear. Even more important is to pass on the memory and pride for this holy day to the younger generation.

We bow our heads on this day to everyone who did not live to see Victory Day. We thank you, our veterans. We are proud of the greatness of your destinies and are glad that today you are next to us, that we are celebrating the Great Victory holiday together.

Dear veterans, please accept my sincere wishes for health, happiness and prosperity.
