02.06.2021

The PMR Supreme Council in the course of the plenary session today supported the initiative of the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky to increase the size of pension payments to security officials. The deputies adopted the law-in-draft "On Amendments and Addenda to the Law of the PMR" On the Republican Budget for 2021" in two readings at once.

The law-in-draft was developed for the purpose of social justice and in order to legislate the application of a uniform approach to increasing pensions for all categories of persons who are subject to the law "On State Pension Provisions for Persons Who Served Military Service, Service in the internal affairs bodies, the penal system, the service of bailiffs, tax and customs authorities, and their families" as First Deputy Minister of Finance Alena Ruskevich noted.

Pensions will be increased for pensioners of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, tax and customs authorities, the penal system, and the service of bailiffs after adoption and signing of the law by the President, from May 1, 2021. The increase will also affect pensioners of the prosecutor's office, to whom payments were assigned until January 31, 2020. The estimated level of the minimum wage for all categories of retired security officials was increased from 7.8 rubles to 8.6 rubles (for 1 minimum wage).

The law-in-draft provides for the payment of pension benefits to such categories of pensioners to direct the funds of the previously envisaged reserve for the purpose of increasing wages and pensions, which was created, inter alia, at the expense of the Road Fund and the fund for settlements with citizens for land shares.

The entry into force of this law-in-draft is proposed from the day following the day of its official publication, its effect extends to legal relations that arose from May 1, 2021.
