Pridnestrovie celebrates the Day of the Russian Language and the birthday of the "sun of Russian poetry" Alexander Pushkin, together with Russia. The Nizhny Novgorod State Linguistic University named after N.A. Dobrolyubov for the fifth year in a row has been holding "Russian dictation for compatriots" educational campaign to the Day of the Russian Language. Employees of the Office of the PMR Supreme Council, as well as schoolchildren, students of the republic and various organizations from Pridnestrovie, with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo, took part in it this year.
It was possible to write a Russian dictation at noon for schoolchildren, including Suvorov students, and students of the Pridnestrovian State University (together with the Rybnitsa and Bendery branches) participated. They wrote an excerpt from the story "The Other River" by the contemporary Russian prose writer Dmitry Novikov. The author describes the beauties of the nature of Karelia. The older generation wrote dictation in the late afternoon in the building of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, they decided to write the dictation in the briefing room. A laptop was placed for the participants, where philologists from the University of Nizhny Novgorod dictated the text live. By the way, it was not very difficult for native speakers.
More than a thousand people take part in the Russian dictation every year. Among the participants, the organizers note, are schoolchildren, students, students of Orthodox gymnasiums and representatives of various professions – these are teachers, translators, economists, and journalists. The main goal of the dictation, according to the Nizhny Novgorod State Linguistic University, is to broadcast the moral and spiritual values of the Russian world through the best works of Russian literature, pay attention to speech culture and, of course, test knowledge of the basic rules of Russian literate speech.
The teachers of Nizhny Novgorod University explained to the participants all the spellings and punctograms of the text immediately after the dictation and sending scans of completed forms to the university. The results will appear on the university website after 10 days. Participants of the "Russian Dictation" receive electronic certificates of the Nizhny Novgorod State Linguistic University named after N.A. Dobrolyubov. Excellent students are awarded diplomas and certificates, and they also receive additional points for the assessment of the Unified State Examination in the Russian language when they enter the Nizhny Novgorod State Linguistic University.
