The leadership and deputies of the Supreme Council took part in nationwide rally

24.01.2024

A nationwide rally of thousands took place against the economic pressure of the Republic of Moldova on Pridnestrovie in the center of Tiraspol. The initiators and organizers of the rally-procession were the Federation of Trade Unions of Pridnestrovie, the Union of Industrialists, Agrarians and Entrepreneurs of Pridnestrovie and the United Council of Labor Collectives. The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov, Chairman of the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Rosenberg, representatives of the deputy corps, ministries and departments – the leaders of the republic were among with the concerned Pridnestrovians.

Moldova has been blocking the export of leading enterprises of our republic since August 2023. These are the Elektromash, Moldavizolit and Potential plants. The ban on opening accounts in Moldovan banks for business entities in Pridnestrovie continues to apply.

The rally participants noted that the introduction of customs duties is not Moldova’s first step to increase pressure on Pridnestrovie. Thus, they did not want to allow a number of medicines into the republic at different periods, citing the fact that they were not included in the Moldovan register. It was not possible for the same reasons to bring to Pridnestrovie the agrochemicals necessary to protect plants in the fields.

Moldova is strengthening its policy to provoke a social crisis in Pridnestrovie, the organizers of the rally said. However, the current policy of our neighbors will not lead to the political and economic capitulation of Pridnestrovie. Representatives of the younger generation of Pridnestrovians are convinced of this.

Pridnestrovians are convinced that all problems must be resolved exclusively peacefully. This principle was reflected in the resolution of the nationwide meeting, in which labor collectives addressed the leadership of the Republic of Moldova and the participants in the “5+2” negotiating format.

The resolution noted that the direct damage to the Pridnestrovian economy from new levies and blocking the export of products of Pridnestrovian enterprises by Moldova will amount to tens of millions of dollars annually, according to the most conservative estimates. All this will ultimately lead to a decrease in the standard of living of the population.
