02.06.2022

The PMR Supreme Council deputies in the course of the plenary session today listened to reports on the work of the Heads of the state-owned media for the past year, the founders of which are the Supreme Council and the Government. The editors-in-chief talked about how the work of correspondents has changed during the pandemic and shared plans for developing Pridnestrovian media accounts on social networks and instant messengers.

First of all, the "Pridnestrovie", "Adevarul Nistryan" and "Gomin" newspapers are guided by the Development Strategy of the PMR for 2019-2026. The editorial offices of the newspapers tried to fulfill all the tasks set before them by the founders – the Supreme Council and the Government. New headings about the history of the creation of the republic, its achievements and stages of formation have been prepared. In addition, 2021 has been declared the Year of Youth. Materials about support for young families, working specialties, and volunteer movements were published on the pages of republican newspapers. Correspondents published essays about the best teachers of Pridnestrovie in order to increase the prestige of the teaching profession among young people.

The deputies had questions during the discussion of reports on the results of the work of republican newspapers. Parliamentarian Vadim Kravchuk asked which states subscribe to the "Pridnestrovie" newspaper.

The News of Pridnestrovie News Agency launched several new special projects in 2021. For example, the video project “About People” tells about interesting personalities of the republic. A series of special projects dedicated to the Great Patriotic War also continued. This year, the presentation of the new site architecture is planned. Its current format is outdated, Alla Ivanchenko, editor-in-chief of the News of Pridnestrovie News Agency, told about this at the plenary session.

The editor-in-chief of the First Pridnestrovian TV Channel Viktor Savchenko noted in his report that the work of the media in social networks is an important area.

Radio 1 and Radio 1 Plus have aired a new weekly political column, Strictly About Politics. It highlights a broader view of modern geopolitical realities and an analysis of what is happening in the republic and beyond. A series of programs “Chronicles of a Day that Changed the World” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War was prepared by June 22. The plans for the upcoming new season include updating the broadcast and preparing new programs and projects.

The media paid special attention to the fight against coronavirus last year: the decisions of the Operational Headquarters and the Ministry of Health were covered, and a campaign was held to call for vaccination.

The parliamentarians approved the reports of the chief editors of the state media for 2021 and adopted the relevant draft resolutions.
