May 19-20, Pridnestrovian delegation was on a working visit to the Russian capital. Pridnestrovian parliament was presented by a deputy of the Supreme Council Oleg Khorzjan.They met with the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Ivan Melnikov, chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Ties with Compatriots, member of the LDPR faction Leonid Slutsky, the head of the Communist Party faction in the State Duma, member of the State Duma Committee for Science and High Technology Gennady Zyuganov. The Russian side was also presented by the chairman of the Committee on Property, factional leader of the parliamentary group for cooperation with the Supreme Council of PMR Sergei Gavrilov, Deputy Chairman of the International Affairs Committee Leonid Kalashnikov, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Science and High Technologies, Dmitry Novikov, deputy chairman of the Committee on Economic policy, innovative development and entrepreneurship Kazbek Taysaev.
The main topic of the meeting with Russian parliamentarians was socio-economic situation in Pridnestrovie. Summing up the trip to the Russian capital, the deputy of the Supreme Council, Oleg Khorzjan noted that his colleagues in the State Duma are well aware of the prevailing situation in Pridnestrovie and understand what purpose is pressure on the republic.
Topical issues in Russian-Pridnestrovian cooperation were discussed during the working visit. In view of the termination of agreements between the governments of Ukraine and Russia concerning military cooperation by the Verkhovna Rada, an important issue was the presence of Russian peacekeepers in Pridnestrovie.
