Dairy and beef cattle breeding, gardening, reclamation complex restoration - these are priority areas for the development of the agro-industrial complex. The results for the past year and plans for the future were announced by the Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources on the board of the department. Efimy Koval noted: last year, the Supreme Council adopted the state program for the development of the agro-industrial complex for eight years. The main goal is to create a stable, competitive, dynamically developing agro-industrial complex, which will ensure the food security of the republic and increase export deliveries. The program provides for a financial and credit mechanism, tax regulation, subsidies, foreign investment.
Cereals and industrial crops provide food security and are a significant export item. In the future, the main task is to increase the production of vegetables and forage crops. A good irrigation system is necessary for this.
Bad weather conditions did not affect the development of crop production too much. There are positive trends. Land users use new technologies for tillage. For example, the Tiraspol bakery plant this year is involved in moisture-saving soil cultivation technology.
Another reserve is grain yield. We have it below the world. An average of 35-40 centners per hectare is harvested in Pridnestrovie. This figure is from 70 to 100 centners in the world.
The plans of the Ministry of Agriculture for the coming years include increasing the volume of production of vegetables due to the development of irrigated agriculture, import substitution of dairy products, increasing export potential, as well as strengthening control over the targeted use of land.
