The Republican stadium in Mira Street in Tiraspol will pass from state ownership to the administration of Tiraspol on October 1 this year. The nearest plans of the city authorities include the reconstruction of the facility. The draft resolution at the plenary session was prepared by the Committee on Regional Policy. The task of completing the transfer of the stadium to the jurisdiction of the capital's state administration was set by the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky at the beginning of the year.
As Deputy Head of the State Service for Sports of the PMR Nelly Telyatinskaya noted that all sports equipment are obsolete as well as the premises that the Republican Stadium has at present. The stadium was built in the 1930s. It included initially one football field, a gym and an outdoor pool. Gradually, the object developed, completed and rebuilt. The last reconstruction at the Republican stadium took place in the mid-80s.
Tiraspol is already working on a stadium transformation project.
It is planned that the side stands will be partially demolished, they are now in disrepair. Halls for playing sports will be built, the surface of the running tracks and the football field will be replaced. In the perspective of 5-10 years, at the suggestion of the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky, the city football team will be restored.
However the city stadium of Tiraspol will not be limited only to football now. There is reconstruction of sports grounds at the entrance to the stadium. The locker rooms will be completely rebuilt. Wrestling and boxing, athletics and gymnastics schools will continue to operate on the territory of the stadium after reconstruction.
