Pridnestrovians celebrate the main state holiday - the 28th anniversary of the republic's formation. The celebrations in the capital began with a flower-laying ceremony at the Memorial of Glory. The President of the Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky, the first President of the PMR Igor Smirnov, Head of the Government Alexander Martynov, deputies of the Supreme Council headed by its Chairman Alexander Shcherba, heads of ministries, departments, Tiraspol residents and guests of Pridnestrovie participated in it.
The President Vadim Krasnoselsky addressed Pridnestrovians on the festive day. The President emphasized that the day of September 2 became a symbol of the triumph of the will of the people. After all, 28 years ago Pridnestrovians declared to the whole world about their desire to live in an acknowledged and free state.
A ceremony of raising the national flags took place on the main square of the capital. Together with Russian and Pridnestrovian tricolors, the flags of Pridnestrovian cities fluttered over the capital of Pridnestrovie. Famous public figures, defenders of the republic, veterans of labor took part in the ceremony of their raising.
The central event of the celebration was the military parade. A solemn march through the square consisted of 21 ceremonial crews. Among the participants there are servicemen of the Ministry of Defense, units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, State Security and other structures and departments. Future defenders of the republic WERE in the ranks - the Cadets and pupils of Suvorov Military College. Two women's crews of the ministries of defense and internal affairs became the decoration of the holiday.
Soldiers of the Guard of Honor Company once again demonstrated the brand-new weapons handling technique. The musical accompaniment of the parade was traditionally provided by the military orchestra of the General Staff of the PMR Armed Forces.
