The Republic celebrates the 30th anniversary of the entry of the Peacekeeping Forces

The Arch of Peace in Parkany, made in the form of angel wings, the Memorial of Military Glory in Bendery and the Alley of Peacekeepers – the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky, the PMR Supreme Council Chairman Alexander Korshunov, Chairman of the PMR Government Alexander Rosenberg, as well as representatives of ministries and departments laid flowers today at these memorable places. Today's date is special for every Pridnestrovian. Russian peacekeepers arrived in Tiraspol on 29th of July exactly 30 years ago to stop the fighting in Bendery, to ensure and protect peace on the Dniester.

Solemn events dedicated to the thirtieth anniversary of the entry of the Peacekeeping Forces of the Russian Federation into Pridnestrovie began at the Arch of Peace "Blessed are the Peacemakers" in the village of Parkany. This commemorative sign appeared on the Tiraspol-Bendery road in 2017 and made the republic a part of the Peace Road project, which united the former "hot spots". Russian and Pridnestrovian peacekeepers line up here, the leadership of the republic, the Russian ambassador and other guests arrive traditionally. The PMR Vadim President Krasnoselsky and Chairman of the Supreme Council of the PMR Alexander Korshunov, deputy of the Supreme Council of the PMR for constituency number 24 "Parkansky" Ivan Nedelkov laid flowers at the Peace Arch After two anthems of Pridnestrovie and Russia were played as a sign that the presence of Russian peacekeepers 30 years after the tragedy in Bendery continues to be the only reliable guarantee of stability and security in Pridnestrovie.

Fresh flowers laid down at the monument to peacekeepers "Dove of Peace" after the Arch of Peace, which is located at the traffic militia post in Bendery, at the Memorial of Memory and Sorrow and at the monument to peacekeepers at the Pavel Tkachenko House of Culture.

The solemn meeting, timed to coincide with an important date for every Pridnestrovian, was held in the same place in the House of Culture, where the Joint Control Commission (JCC) has been meeting once a week for many years. Co-Chairman of the Joint Control Commission from Pridnestrovie Oleg Belyakov made a presentation. He spoke about the history of the creation and work in the current conditions of the Joint Control Commission.

The PMR President recalled that Russian soldiers have been on these lands for more than two centuries and always protect those who need it. Russia stopped the bloodshed in 1992.

The congratulatory telegram of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov was read out by the Russian Ambassador to Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov. The Foreign Minister congratulated the personnel of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces in Pridnestrovie on their 30th anniversary. He noted that the mission has proved its effectiveness and is rightfully considered one of the most successful over the past years.

The Co-Chairman of the Joint Control Commission from Russia Alexander Andreev voiced his congratulations. He emphasized that the peacekeeping operation has stood the test of time and confirmed its role as the most important instrument in ensuring peace.

By the anniversary date, Peacekeepers were awarded state awards and "30 years of the peacekeeping operation" anniversary medals according to the decree of the PMR President. Among those awarded were the First President of Pridnestrovie Igor Smirnov, and the Co-Chairman of the Joint Control Commission from Pridnestrovie Oleg Belyakov.
