The quarantine restrictions regime has been extended until June 15

The plenary session of the parliament began with a minute of silence in memory of the schoolchildren and teachers who died in Kazan on May 13. The Chairman of the Supreme Council of the PMR Alexander Korshunov stressed that the people of Pridnestrovie empathize with this tragedy together with Russian citizens.

There are about 30 issues included to the agenda of the plenary session. The deputies were the first to consider the law-in-draft sent by the President of the PMR in the mode of legislative necessity. He proposes to extend until June 15, 2021, a number of quarantine restrictions that are in effect on the territory of the republic to counter the spread of the new coronavirus infection. Introducing the law-in-draft, the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Radion Cebotari, stressed that the so-called "adaptive quarantine" operates in Pridnestrovie, since, depending on the prevailing epidemiological situation, the authorities and the state as a whole should have a mechanism to influence the situation, and called on to support the extension of the quarantine regulations.

According to the PMR Operational Headquarters, 1110 Pridnestrovians are carriers of COVID-19 as of 13th of May. 429 of them are being treated at home, 591 - in six currently functioning infectious diseases hospitals. It is hard to bear the disease for 156 people, 32 are patients in intensive care units, two are connected to artificial ventilation devices. The average daily incidence remains at 78 cases. In total, 48498 cases of COVID-19 infection were recorded in Pridnestrovie during the coronavirus pandemic. 1152 carriers of the virus (2.4% of cases) died.

Deputies of the PMR Supreme Council supported the initiative of the President and adopted the law-in-draft in two readings at once. The rules governing the mask regime, observance of social distance, fines for violation of quarantine and others will continue to operate in Pridnestrovie, until June 15, 2021. According to the decree of the PMR President, there is a pre-pandemic procedure for crossing the state border.
