State of emergency extended until May 15

The President Vadim Krasnoselsky signed a decree on the extension of the state of emergency in Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic until May 15. The state of emergency was introduced in the republic by presidential decree No. 98 dated March 16 this year. The decision was due to the announcement by WHO of pandemic of coronavirus and the need to protect the lives and health of the inhabitants of the republic. Initially, they supposed that the state of emergency was until April 5. On March 30, the President amended the decree, and the state of emergency was extended until May 1. The next changes were adopted due to the failure to normalize the situation associated with the spread of coronavirus infection in Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

During a state of emergency, the state will help the population and enterprises. On April 8, the Supreme Council adopted the law "On state support during the state of emergency 2020". The main thing is that during the state of emergency payments of pensions and social benefits to citizens. Individual entrepreneurs who were forced to suspend their activities can receive unemployment benefits in the amount of 1 minimum wage (1647 rubles). Those for whom the financial situation does not allow paying utility bills on time can settle accounts with energy supply companies by the end of the year. At the same time, social norms will be maintained and fines will not be charged. The deferral of utility bills also applies to enterprises. In addition, some economic agents may take a bank loan to pay salaries to employees. The state subsidizes 10% of the loan rate. Those enterprises that previously took preferential loans for the development of production can receive a delay for six months.

On April 22, the Supreme Council adopted amendments to the law on state support during the state of emergency. Some articles of the law are corrected. Additions have also been made, they are based on appeals of voters to deputies of the Supreme Council. The validity of qualification categories of medical workers is extended for the period of emergency. The term of the power of attorney for receiving pension and the term for accepting the inheritance have also been extended for the duration of the state of emergency and another 30 days after its end.
