The state of economic emergency in Pridnestrovie has been extended until June 8. Deputies of the Supreme Council approved the corresponding Decree of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic "On the extension of the state of economic emergency in the territory of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic". The reason for the extension is the ongoing economic emergency situation caused by the reduction in natural gas supplies to the republic, as noted in the document.

A severe economic crisis has arisen in the country since the beginning of this year due to the reduction in natural gas supplies. The state of emergency in the economy is extended to restore the necessary conditions for the viability of the state and to meet the basic needs of the population. It was noted that in the first months of the year, the volume of industrial production fell by half compared to the same period in 2024 in early April, at the Board of the Ministry of Economic Development. Exports fell by 58.5%, imports – by 25.6%. The extension of the state of emergency in the economy in the Supreme Council was called a forced measure. The state will continue to fulfill social obligations during this period. The special legal regime in the republic has been in effect since December 11 last year, when the decision was made due to the possible cessation of gas supplies. Fears were confirmed, natural gas supplies ceased From January 1, 2025, and resumed only on February 1 as European humanitarian support, and from February 14, gas began to flow to the PMR thanks to Russian credit assistance. The volumes of gas supplied now are only enough to meet the needs of the population, the industrial sector is idle. The state of emergency in the economy has been extended for the 5th time since the beginning of the year under these conditions.
