The second day of racing on “Dragon” class boats took place at the Tiraspol rowing base today. Teams competed for the championship in 6 groups. The Presidential Administration won in the “Civil Authorities” group; “Security structures” – Ministry of Internal Affairs; “Enterprises and organizations” – Moldavian Metallurgical Plant; “Student groups” and schoolchildren” – Olympic Reserve School; “Women’s teams” – Government Office based on the results.
54 teams totally took part in the “President’s Family for Healthy Lifestyle” regatta, that’s 702 rowers including reserves. The distance on the Dniester is 300 meters downstream. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky at the closing ceremony of the regatta named all the teams winners and thanked everyone for their participation.
Second places were taken by the teams of the "Dynamo Center", KommunalDorServis, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Tiraspol Law Institute, the Republican Cadet Corps of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, and the "Association of Health and Sports".
Third places belong to the Ministry of Defense, State Unitary Enterprise “Water Supply and Sanitation”, Government Office, Military Institute of the Ministry of Defense, Tiraspol Suvorov Military School, Ministry of Education of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The awards to the bronze medalists were presented by the Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov.
The winners in 3 groups competed in the race for the Super Cup after the final races: these were the teams of the Presidential Administration, the Moldavian Metallurgical Plant and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The participants strived for the finish in a stubborn struggle. The best result was shown by the Ministry of Internal Affairs team, covering the distance in 1.18.45. The Super Cup was presented to the winners by the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky.
The Supreme Dragon parliament team and the Youth Parliament team under the Supreme Council were awarded participant diplomas, as were the other teams that did not reach the final races. Memorable awards were presented to them by the chief judge of the competition, Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Konstantin Gamalitsky.
Young people from the Olympic Reserve School are professionally trained in rowing among the participants in the regatta; they performed in the “Schoolchildren” and “Student Collectives” groups. They go out on the water all year round. The school team, for example, only had 3 training sessions this week before the regatta. It showed the best result among her competitors 1.16.68, and won gold as a result.
The dragon boat rowing regatta “The President's Family for Healthy Lifestyle” is being held for the third year in a row and brings together non-professional participants. The number of teams is increasing. If last year there were 41 teams in 4 groups and more than 500 participants, then there are 54 teams in 6 groups and more than 700 participants this year. The groups “Schoolchildren” and “Women’s Teams” have been added.
