The Memory Regatta

The Memory Regatta - is one of the traditions born by sad events that accompanied Pridnestrovie during the period of its formation. The annual event is held in memory of Bendery defenders - rowers Andrey Bunin, Vyacheslav Malchukov and Yury Gladkov.

The militiamen Andrey Bunin and Yury Gladkov died in the infantry fighting vehicle, which is forever in Bendery Memorial of Remembrance and Sorrow.

Another representative of Bendery school rowing, remaining forever young athletes to the last breath to defend the homeland, - Vyacheslav Malchukov. He joined the Black Sea Cossack Army, was taken as a prisoner, the whole year was listed as missing.

This year, Memorial regatta was held 21 times. It brought together about a hundred young residents of Bendery and Tiraspol. Constant participants of the memorable event are Dynamo veterans movement of the republic. The Group of Eight veterans for many years includes the candidate for the master of sports of the USSR in rowing, honorary president of the Federation of rowing PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky. The Parliament Speaker considers participation in the regatta as duty and honor.
