Tourism Development in the republic

The Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic approved in the course of the plenary meeting held today a report for 2023 on the implementation of the “Support and development of tourism in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic” for 2019–2026” state target program. The program is aimed at creating a modern and competitive tourism industry in Pridnestrovie.

All planned activities were completed despite some financial adjustments in 2023. About 950 thousand rubles were used, which amounted to 97.5% of the original budget.

Particular attention was paid to promoting Pridnestrovian tourism. Active advertising campaigns was conducted and the “Discover Pridnestrovie” tourism portal was supported.  “Tourist cashback” continues to operate to popularize domestic tourism. It helps to return to Pridnestrovians part of the money spent on traveling around the republic. Cashback was used by almost 800 people who spent about 352 thousand rubles on excursions and tours and received a refund of 116 thousand rubles in 2023. The “tourist cashback” project was extended for another year, with 1 million rubles allocated for it.

Representatives of the tourism industry of Pridnestrovie participate in international exhibitions, promoting the region at the international level every year. Directories of service providers have been developed, including hotels, conference rooms, restaurants and transport companies. New signs with street names in a foreign language and QR codes, information stands and audio guides have appeared in the cities and villages of Pridnestrovie. A promotional video and short films have been created to promote the republic's tourism products. New sanitary facilities were installed in tourist clusters, bicycle paths were laid and signs for cyclists were installed.

The deputy corps approved the report and voted unanimously for the draft resolution.
