Development of the main university of the republic

Parliamentarians in the course of the plenary session considered the draft state program “Development of the state educational institution “Pridnestrovian State University named after Taras Shevchenko” for 2025-2029”. The main directions of the new State Target Program were presented by the rector of PSU Vladislav Sokolov. According to him, the program is focused on ensuring that PSU meets the criteria of a modern multidisciplinary university, ensuring an increase in the level of provision of quality education through the modernization of the education system, the introduction of innovative processes and technologies, the training of qualified competitive personnel, professional retraining and advanced training, as well as the modernization of the material and technical base and socio-cultural infrastructure.

It is planned in the field of education to open new programs for training highly qualified specialists at all levels, introduce practice-oriented educational programs, develop partnerships in the field of vocational education, develop targeted training, introduce additional general education programs for schoolchildren, acquire the collections of a scientific and information library center and protect intellectual property.

It is planned in the field of scientific activity to increase the efficiency of scientific research in priority and main scientific areas, to form new scientific schools, and to actively introduce the results of scientific research into educational activities, production and social spheres of the state.

In the field of personnel policy, training and advanced training of scientific and pedagogical personnel will be carried out, ensuring the effective performance of employees and their professional growth.

Capital investments and ongoing repairs of university buildings and premises in the field of material and technical equipment and support are planned. We are talking about the acquisition of modernized non-production equipment and inventory to support the educational, scientific and educational process as well. It is planned to improve the material and technical base of research laboratories to the level of their compliance with modern requirements, as well as to create a modern student complex for housing, amenities and sports and leisure purposes at PSU, said the university rector Vladislav Sokolov.

All planned events will be carried out over the next 5 years. The total amount of financing of the state program from the republican budget is over 56 million rubles, 26 million of which from the Capital Investment Fund. 21 million rubles will be required to begin implementing the state program next year.

Igor Buga added that the deadline for consideration of the draft state program may be extended. Deputies plan to consider the law-in-draft in the second reading in the autumn session.
