Development of volunteer activity in the republic

Amendments and additions to the Law of the PMR “On Volunteering” were adopted in the second final reading. The new norms proposed by the Government are designed to create a legal basis for the functioning of an integral system of volunteering in Pridnestrovie.

The mechanism for issuing a personal book of a volunteer will be fixed at the legislative level now. The same document is issued to volunteers in Russia. Records are made in the personal book about specific activities in which the volunteer participated, as well as about incentives and additional training.

A volunteer's personal book and extracts from it can be taken into account when applying for a job and when being admitted to an educational organization.

The deputies fixed the clarified concepts of "volunteer" and "volunteer organization". New terms have also appeared in the legislative field, for example, "organizer of volunteer activities". These are non-profit organizations and individuals who involve volunteers on an ongoing basis in the implementation of volunteer activities, and manage it. Another innovation is a unified information system in the field of volunteerism development. It will collect all the information about volunteers, volunteer organizers and volunteer organizations. The developer of the unified information system will be approved by the Government.

The law “On Volunteering” updated the list of the main activities of volunteers, as well as clarified the rights and obligations of volunteers, volunteer organizations and organizers of volunteer activities.

The amendments and additions to the law adopted at the plenary session were sent for signature to the President.
