The Supreme Council expressed its deep concern at the aggravation of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, the beginning of military actions on April 2 this year, which resulted in numerous casualties. Deputies during the plenary session adopted a relevant draft resolution prepared by the results of the meeting of the parliamentary commission for foreign policy and international relations.
The Supreme Council draws attention to the successful experience of the international peacekeeping format in the Dniester. Peacemaking operation became the foundation, which initiated the search for peaceful ways to resolve conflicts. Parliament reaffirms its commitment to conflict resolution in the spirit of mutual respect, equality and good neighborly relations, in accordance with the fundamental norms and principles of international law, on the basis of earlier agreements of the parties. Parliamentarians call on the international community and all parties interested in a peaceful resolution of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, to promote the early resumption of the peace talks and to restore confidence between the parties.
