The meeting of "The Obnovlenie" faction took place in the capital office of the party. Parliamentarians of "The Obnovlenie" discussed the most important issues on the agenda of the forthcoming plenary meeting.

Lively discussion was prompted by a package of legislations, designed to expand the powers of the prosecutor's office. Earlier: the legislative initiative was introduced by the President Vadim Krasnoselsky. It is proposed to expand the powers of the prosecutor's office to oversee the investigation, return the function of maintaining charges in court, as well as powers to initiate criminal cases. As it was noted during the meeting, parliamentarians, including the responsible committee, support the basic concept of the law-in-draft. As a result of a lengthy discussion, members of the faction decided to support the package of legislations in the first reading during the upcoming plenary session. It was planned to continue discuss the conceptual moments with the involvement of experts in the second reading.

A number of issues caused amendments to the Marriage and Family Code, developed by parliamentarian Galina Antyfeeva. The legislator proposes, in cases where the marriage is terminated, to oblige one of the parents to participate in additional expenses related to the education of a child in the university. It is only about full-time education, as well as the age before the child reaches 23 years of age. The final point in this matter is to be put to the deputy corps in the course of the plenary session.
