Over 3.5 thousand foreign delegates from 140 countries are taking part in the international economic forum that started today in St. Petersburg. Among them there are representatives of our republic, including Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov, Chairman of the parliamentary committee on the development of entrepreneurship and industry Viktor Guzun, Head of the committee on education, science and culture of the legislature of the republic Mikhail Burla. The total number of participants is 17 thousand people.
The participants discussed first of all questions of economy and business. The main topics are also energy, transport, world economic problems, the use of digital technologies in business and international cooperation.
The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the program of measures is so extensive that there can be no question of any economic isolation of Russia. This is confirmed by a large number of foreign participants, including representatives of not only large world companies, but also politicians. For example, UN Secretary General António Guterres, presidents of European countries. One of the main guests of the economic forum was Xi Jinping, the chairman of the People's Republic of China, who arrived in St. Petersburg during state visit to Russia.
On the very first day of the SPIEF-2019, the Euro-2020 volunteer program (European Football Championship) was launched, and cooperation agreements were signed. The Investment Agency of the PMR and the Council for the Development of Foreign Trade and International Economic Relations of the Russian Federation signed an agreement on the opening of the “Russian Trade Project”. The document was signed by heads of organizations Andrei Betanov and Maksim Chereshnev at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum site. The Russian Trade Project will operate in Moscow. Its goal is to help promote Pridnestrovian producers in the Russian market.
