Equal opportunity in sports

The Equal Opportunities tournament, in which para-athletes and representatives of state authorities of our republic compete, has been held in Bendery for the fifth year. The tournament is one of a kind not only in Pridnestrovie, but also in neighboring states. Traditionally, the Equal Opportunities tournament is held in mid-December. The sports festival is timed to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The organizer of the tournament is the Republican charity background "World of Equal Opportunities."

The main goals of this event are the social integration of people with disabilities, the popularization and development of sports. The Equal Opportunities Tournament is a meeting of like-minded people who support development of sports.

The President noted in welcoming address that every person, regardless of their state of health should be able to be a full member of society, gain knowledge, realize themselves, their abilities and their potential.

Table tennis competitions and a drafts tournament were held in parallel at the site of the Equal Opportunities tournament. As the participants noted, winning a victory was not so simple.

According to Anton Onufrienko, the participation of Government officials is justified and necessary. Informational occasion that arises around such events will be a signal for the rest of the city and Pridnestrovie to start playing sports. This tournament shows that we are all the same, and there is no need to make a difference.

After summing up the results of the competition, the winners of the tournament were awarded with well-deserved honors won in a fair fight.
