The Equality on Ethnicity

Equality of people regardless of national, ethnic, linguistic or religious affiliation became ideal and values that is recognized and shared by the majority in modern society and the legal system. The topic "Whether special protection mechanisms are necessary for ethnic equality?" was discussed today in the course of the round table at the site of the State University. The meeting was attended by head of the parliamentary committee Vladimir Bodnar.

Participants of the event were presented thematic presentations. One of them was focused on how the theme of equality for ethnic was discussed in Georgia, what arguments were forwarded "for" and "against" a special anti-discrimination law, what models were taken as the basis for their development. The head of the Department of Gender Equality Office of the Ombudsman of Georgia Anna Kvachadze shared the experience. They also talked about how to solve the problems faced by national minorities how the State and civil society representatives participate in their resolution.
