Amendments to the Law "On Customs Tariff" were considered

26.03.2025

The law-in-draft "On Amendments to the Law of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic "On Customs Tariff" passed the first reading in the course of the plenary session of the Supreme Council.

The Government's initiative proposes to exempt from customs duties medical and pharmaceutical products and medical equipment imported into the republic within the framework of state target programs by state institutions subordinate to the Ministry of Healthcare. Goods imported within the framework of purchases recognized as state orders are exempt from duties according to current legislation. The Government issues additional legal acts on recognizing supplies under State Target Programs as a state order in order to reduce the burden on the budget, because the amount of duties is not taken into account when calculating the costs of implementing these target programs. Approximately 15 such acts of the Government have been issued over the past 2 years. The essence of the addition to the law "On the customs tariff" is to apply tariff benefits within the framework of state programs in the field of healthcare without special orders of the Government. This will simplify and speed up customs procedures.
