Deputies adopted in the first reading the law-in-draft granting the Prosecutor's Office PMR right to supervise the execution of the legislation in force by the President and the government. This is a proposal of parliamentarian Oleg Petrik, requiring the introduction of relevant amendments to the Constitutional Law "On the Prosecutor's Office of PMR".
The reason for the development of the instrument, according to the author, are the results of consideration of response of the Prosecutor PMR to deputy inquiry concerning testify legal assessment of the introduction in the territory of Presidential Decree "On the introduction of some of the features on the territory of Pridnestrovie compulsory insurance of civil liability of vehicle owners". The prosecutor's office found that the action of the legal act is contrary to applicable legislation. However, it was noted that the prosecution had not enough authority to oversee in the field of legal, regulated at the level of sub-legal - normative acts of the President and the Government.
A positive opinion was received from the prosecutor's office PMR to the proposed legislation of Oleg Petrik. The minister of Justice Olga Zvarych has different opinion. She noted that the introduction of the proposed rule is contrary to the constitutional status of the President, and proposed to exclude the head of state from the list of public authority, whose activities are subject to the prosecutor's supervision.
Adopted in first reading the law-in-draft amending the Constitutional Law "On the Prosecutor's Office of PMR" will be finalized by profile committee to consider the document in the second reading.
