The beneficiaries categories expansion

05.04.2023

The plenary session of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic was held today in the conference hall. Deputies of the Pridnestrovian parliament have been gathering online due to the difficult epidemiological situation for the past few weeks. According to the Republican Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology, the growth of acute respiratory diseases in Pridnestrovie began in February, compared to the same period in 2022, the incidence increased by 30-80%. Many cases of influenza were recorded in early February. Pridnestrovians have become less sick with COVID-19 since last week: 246 cases against 430 cases in the penultimate week of March.

There are more than 20 issues on the agenda, including changes to the state program for re-equipping fire departments with transport and a new state program for the development of entrepreneurship.

The parliamentarians agreed with the proposal of the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic to expand the categories of recipients of benefits for those who import vehicles for personal use. The list was supplemented by Pridnestrovians who are dependent on disabled and immobile disabled children under 18 or disabled since childhood. Currently, 512 disabled children diagnosed with cerebral paralysis and 151 disabled since childhood, who cannot serve themselves on their own and lead a sedentary or recumbent lifestyle, are registered with specialized specialists.

The average excise duty is about 950 USD. The amount depends on the parameters of the imported car. Excise exemption, according to the law, will be granted once.

The list of those who are now exempt from paying excise duty when importing a car into the PMR includes participants in military operations in wars, armed conflicts, other military operations specified in the law establishing the legal status of war veterans, participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, disabled people of groups I and II with a violation of the musculoskeletal system or with the absence of lower limbs.

The law will enter into force on the 1st of January, 2024.
