Young families have the opportunity to receive a state subsidy for full or partial payment of a loan or interest on it when purchasing housing in the territory of Pridnestrovie, in accordance with the Law of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic “On state support for young families for the purchase of housing”. Deputies of the Committee on Regional Policy, Local Self-Government and Housing and Communal Services put forward a legislative initiative to expand forms of state support. It can be transferred to the second spouse if a husband or wife expresses a desire to transfer obligations to fulfill contractual terms, but only subject to his consent and compliance with the requirements and conditions for receiving a state subsidy, according to the initiative.
The proposed mechanism will allow young families to overcome negative circumstances and continue to fulfill their financial obligations to the state. The expansion of state support is aimed at strengthening the institution of family and providing the most comfortable conditions for young families when resolving the housing issue.
The Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic today in the first reading adopted law-in-draft amending the law “On state support for young families for the purchase of housing.” The relevant committee will continue to work on the legislative initiative.
The Law “On state support for young families for the purchase of housing” was adopted by the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in February 2020. Pridnestrovian public sector employees began receiving subsidies for the purchase of their own housing in 2021. Young families where one of the spouses has not reached the age of 36 (in the first five years of marriage) can take advantage of the state subsidy, and if they have children, there is no limit on the duration of the marriage. A single-parent family with a minor child (if the parent has not reached 36 years of age) can receive a subsidy.
The amount of government subsidy depends on the number of children and is equivalent to 10, 12 or 14 thousand dollars. The categories of public sector employees who can qualify for government subsidies are constantly expanding. As of January 1, 2024, 379 young families have issued certificates to receive state subsidies for the purchase of housing.
