The list of places where smoking tobacco is prohibited has been expanded

Law-in-draft of the Government expanding the list of places where smoking tobacco is prohibited was adopted in the second final reading. It includes parks and squares, stops of urban and suburban public transport, as well as river transport vessels that carry out passenger transportation.

The amendments to the second reading were commented on by the Chairman of the relevant parliamentary Committee on Social Policy and Healthcare Sergei Cheban.

Amendments and additions were made to the law “On protecting the health of citizens from the effects of environmental tobacco smoke, the consequences of smoking tobacco and other nicotine-containing mixtures without tobacco”.

For violation of established norms, the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (Article 6.25) provides for administrative liability in the form of a fine in the amount of 10 to 20 minimum wages (from 184 to 368 rubles). The new norms will come into force 14 days after signing by the PMR President and official publication.
