Friendly relations between the parliamentarians of Pridnestrovie and Russia have been developed for several decades. In recent years, they reached a new level, as evidenced by the intensification of cooperation between the Supreme Council and the State Duma. Another testimony of the growing parliamentary ties was the meeting of the Speaker and Vice Speaker of the Parliament Alexander Shcherba and Galina Antyufeeva with the deputy of the lower chamber of the Russian parliament, Yuri Mishcheryakov, at the parliamentary platform.
Member of the Duma Committee on CIS Affairs and Relations with Compatriots, representing "The United Russia" parliamentary faction Yuri Mishcheryakov arrived in Tiraspol to celebrate the 225th anniversary of Tiraspol. The hospitable hosts acquainted him with the economic potential of the main city of the republic, conducted an excursion for the honorable Russian visitor on the flagman of Pridnestrovian light industry, CJSC Tirotex. According to the State Duma deputy, he was impressed by the industrial power of the industrial giant.
The use of the industrial potential of the republic, the need to increase the export of high-quality Pridnestrovian products to the Russian market, create conditions for attracting investment from Russia, strengthen the cooperative economic ties between the enterprises of the two states were the main topics of the dialogue of parliamentary colleagues held in the Supreme Council.
