Employees of budgetary organizations in the field of education, healthcare, physical culture and sports, social services, social security, culture and art, whose salary is below the minimum wage (minimum wage) and who receive an additional payment up to the minimum wage, will be paid another additional payment from the state budget. Its size will be 200 rubles. The deputies in the course of the plenary session of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic adopted in two readings at once the law-in-draft “On Making an Addendum to the Law of the PMR “On the Republican Budget for 2023”, which was presented as a legislative initiative by the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in the mode of legislative necessity.

Minister for Social Protection and Labor Elena Kulichenko said in the course of online meeting that the law-in-draft establishes a new monthly surcharge for employees of budgetary organizations and employees of municipal organizations performing managerial functions, whose salary is below the minimum wage and who receive a surcharge up to the minimum wage.

The minimum wage for unskilled workers for the first quarter of 2023 is set at 1809 rubles, 1989.9 rubles for skilled workers. According to the law, if the salary is below the minimum wage, such employees are paid up to the level of the minimum wage and, in addition to this amount, an additional payment of 108.3 rubles is provided. The law-in-draft adopted today in two readings at once to Pridnestrovians who receive such an additional payment in excess of the salary brought to the level of the minimum wage, will receive another payment in the amount of 200 rubles. The Ministry of Social Protection emphasized that additional funding for the new norm would not be required, since the limits were provided initially and included in the payroll funds of budgetary organizations. The Head of the relevant department gave the calculations.

According to the Ministry of Social Protection, 18 thousand 165 people receive additional payments up to the minimum wage level in the organizations of Pridnestrovie, which fell under the increase in wages by 12% from the new year. The Supreme Council supported the initiative of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic that today it is important to improve the situation of low-paid workers in the public sector.

The deputies of the Supreme Council believe that it is necessary to amend the law on wages for employees of the public sector so that it takes into account modern realities and is not difficult for Pridnestrovians to understand.
