To work, lending shoulder to one another

21.09.2017

Today, an agreement on cooperation between the legislature and the Public Chamber has been signed. "To work, lending shoulder to one another," - so the head of the legislature of the republic Alexander Shcherba and the chairman of the Public Chamber Vitaly Glebov determined the basis of the relationship. The document was sealed with signatures and handshake.

The signed agreement provides for the active participation of members of the Chamber in the discussion of socially significant draft laws and an analysis of the evaluation of the effectiveness of the application of legislation. They can express arguments "for" or "against" their adoption at meetings of working groups, round tables, at parliamentary, public hearings and other events held on the site of the Supreme Council. In turn, legislators are invited to participate in the work of the Public Chamber and its agencies on the ground. In fact, this work has already begun. According to Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Galina Antyufeeva, not so long ago, lawmakers witnessed an interested discussion of a number of issues at a meeting of public figures.

In the opinion of the participants in the meeting-signing, close contacts of parliamentarians with representatives of civil society institutions will help create conditions for improving the legislative base, uniting efforts aimed at improving the life of Pridnestrovian people.

The legal basis for such cooperation will be legislations "On the Public Chamber" and "On Public Control", which passed the procedure of the first reading.
