Working Meetings in Moscow

As we reported, the delegation of the Supreme Council, headed by Speaker Mikhail Burla paid a working visit to the Russian capital, where a number of meetings were held: with the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Property Sergei Gavrilov, who also heads the inter-parliamentary group on cooperation with the Supreme Council of PMR; Leonid Slutsky Head of the Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Ties with Compatriots; first deputy chairman of the same committee, Oleg Lebedev; the head of the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs Alexei Pushkov.

In the course of the conversation of the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Ivan Melnikov with the Chairman of the Supreme Council the PMR Mikhail Burla the situation around Pridnestrovie was considered, in the context of internal Ukrainian crisis and social and political processes taking place in the Republic of Moldova.

Representatives of the parties emphasized the importance of intensifying humanitarian cooperation and expansion of economic relations between Russia and Pridnestrovie with the necessity to use existing in the sphere of material production capacity, including through regional cooperation.

Ivan Melnikov and Mikhail Burla confirmed the line for the development of inter-parliamentary relations between the State Duma and the Supreme Council, and spoke out the participation of observers from the lower house of parliament in the upcoming elections to PMR Supreme Council and local representative agencies, scheduled for November 29, 2015.

Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of PMR on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance Peter Pasat took part in the interview as well.

Pridnestrovian lawmakers also met with the head of Rossotrudnichestvo and the special representative of Russian President for CIS affairs, Konstantin Kosachev.
