Working meeting of the President with the Supreme Council Chairman

The President Vadim Krasnoselsky held a working meeting with Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov. The top officials of the state discussed current issues of the country’s life, as reported on the official website of the PMR President.

The Parliament Speaker spoke about the yesterday adoption of the draft budget for 2024 in the second reading. According to the Chairman of the Supreme Council, more than a hundred amendments have been made to the text part of the document. Representatives of the legislative and executive branches of government jointly carried out a lot of preliminary work, which made it possible to submit a verified draft for discussion and minimize controversial disputes within the plenary session. The next stage is the creation of applications. They are being prepared for the third reading, scheduled for the 20th of December. Local authorities will form municipal budgets based on the adopted main financial document of the country at the beginning of the new year.

“Working on a budget project is always difficult. Making money is hard, but distributing it is a science. There are many problems – repair and construction of facilities, social obligations fulfillment, and other expenses necessary for the state. Consensus must be found. It was possible to reduce the intensity of passions on the platform of the Supreme Council thanks to the well-coordinated work of the deputies and the government this year, since many issues had been previously worked out”, noted Vadim Krasnoselsky, emphasizing that he is ready to continue to contribute to a fruitful budget process.

Vadim Krasnoselsky and Alexander Korshunov discussed in the course of the probability of increasing salaries for teachers and doctors next year, as well as the level of pensions. The President previously gave instructions to work on this area. The question remains open. The budget balances of the outgoing year are considered as possible sources of financing. Information on the volume of these funds will be available in January. They will make a decision that corresponds to their financial capabilities based on this.

The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic called on the deputy corps to actively participate in discussing the results of local activities. Another upcoming significant event is the traditional announcement of the Presidential Address to public and administrative authorities.
