24.05.2024

The Supreme Council hosted a working meeting of the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov and the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia in the PMR Alexander Vataman, and the head of the Official Representation of the Republic of South Ossetia in the PMR Vitaly Yankovsky. The meeting was attended by Advisor to the Chairman of the PMR Supreme Council for External Relations Sergei Shirokov.

Alexander Korshunov noted that such meetings, although working, are traditionally friendly in nature and are important for strengthening ties between Pridnestrovie, Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

The representative of Abkhazia in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Vataman expressed gratitude for the meeting and noted the readiness of the Official Representation for active cooperation with the Pridnestrovian parliament. He informed the meeting participants about the general situation in the Republic of Abkhazia, noting that the peoples of Abkhazia and Pridnestrovie, brought up on the same history and the same human values, celebrate the same memorable dates. This allows for the joint participation of youth, schoolchildren and students in various forums, competitions and other events, including those held on the territory of the Russian Federation.

The Abkhaz diplomat spoke about the interaction between Abkhazia and Pridnestrovie in 2024, emphasizing that such interaction is being built not only on various online platforms, but also in the format of offline working meetings.

The participants during the meeting exchanged views on establishing and promoting cooperation between Pridnestrovie, Abkhazia and South Ossetia, expressing interest in further deepening existing friendly relations between the fraternal republics.

The parties agreed at the end of the meeting to continue the dialogue in the spirit of mutual understanding and constructive cooperation.
