There were 257 polling stations in the republic: 255 - in towns and districts, one in the Republican Clinical Hospital and one in Tiraspol and in the State Service for the Execution of Punishments. The ballot papers contain two candidates running for the post of head of state: the current president Vadim Krasnoselsky and deputy of the Council of People's Deputies of the Grigoriopol region Sergei Pynzar.
Voting takes place in compliance with sanitary standards. At the entrance to the polling stations, those who need it are given disposable masks. All members of the commissions are also provided with personal protective equipment. Volunteers work at the polling stations, who help voters with special needs if necessary.
The elections are attended by international observers from Russia, Poland, Nagorno-Karabakh, who assess the elections in terms of compliance with international electoral standards.
Today in the conference hall of the "Russia" hotel of the capital is the Information Center of the CEC. International observers, representatives of the Supreme Court, the Prosecutor's Office, the Ombudsman, Pridnestrovian and foreign journalists take part in the work of the center. 153 journalists totally from 15 media outlets work in the elections, 4 are foreign.
The information center announces the data on the voter turnout in individual cities and throughout the republic. During the day, there will be several briefings by the chairman and members of the PMR CEC. International observers will share their impressions and comments on the results of observing the voting process in Pridnestrovie.
Constant video surveillance is conducted at polling stations from the moment the premises are opened until the end of the counting of votes. Voting will last until 20:00. The polling stations will be closed after that and the commissions will start counting votes.
