A large exhibition and round table on Pridnestrovie and many years of friendship with Russia will be held in Moscow in the building of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. Information about this has already been officially confirmed. The PMR Supreme Council has done a great job in preparing this important event for Russian- Pridnestrovian cooperation. Russian colleagues are helping to resolve organizational issues in Moscow. Deputy of the State Duma from the United Russia fraction, Deputy chairman of the committee on CIS affairs, Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots, Head of the commission on compatriots abroad, Umakhan Umakhanov organizes an exhibition and the round table. Two weeks ago, a Russian parliamentarian visited Tiraspol and met with the leadership and deputies of the Supreme Council of Pridnestrovie. Organizational issues were clarified. Umakhan Umakhanov assured that the preparation of the exhibition on Pridnestrovie and the organization of round table on the interaction of Moscow and Tiraspol are underway as usual.
Chairman of the PMR Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov noted that the exhibition plans to talk about the connection between Pridnestrovie and Russia since the time of Catherine II, the spiritual and cultural potential of our republic, and the traditions of the peoples who live in Pridnestrovie. The exhibition is also intended to show the economic opportunities of the republic, its industry and agriculture, to reveal investment potential.
The Pridnestrovian Parliament Speaker emphasized that the support of the Russian deputies in organizing the exhibition and the round table and, in particular, the deputy chairman of the Committee on CIS Affairs and Relations with Compatriots Umakhan Umakhanov, will help representatives of the Supreme Council to discuss a number of problematic issues and outline ways to resolve it. On the eve of his visit to Tiraspol, Umakhan Umakhanov, as the head of the commission on the problems of compatriots abroad, also met with deputies of the Moldovan parliament in Chisinau. During the visit, the Russian parliamentarian emphasized that urgent problematic issues in the relations between Moldova and Pridnestrovie should be discussed during a constructive dialogue at all levels of the negotiation process, including the potential of interparliamentary diplomacy.
Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov drew special attention to the need for the widest and at the same time correct and objective coverage of the whole range of working events in the media.
The support of the Russian State Duma is very important for the whole of Pridnestrovie. The PMR Supreme Council considers that the upcoming events in the Russian capital will be a step towards the development of further partnerships and a new level of openness and trust between Tiraspol and Moscow.
