To confront corruption

24.11.2016

Interrupted plenary meeting of the Supreme Council will continue today at 12:00. The main issue is the project of the republican budget for the next year. Yesterday parliamentarians have completed consideration of the presidential law-in-draft "On Combating Corruption". The document, according to the official representative of the head of state is the Russian equivalent.

Introducing of this law-in-draft was a surprise to the people's deputies. The fact that November 2 they have already taken the same name and similar to the Russian law in the first reading . The authors are legislators Galina Antyufeeva and Vadim Krasnoselsky. By the way, the base of the law was supplemented by four other associated legislations, indicating that the integrated approach of the authors initiative to the legislative regulation of the process of opposition to such social evils as corruption.

What was the meaning for the president to submit to the Supreme Council identical law-in-draft after just 16 days, and even in the regime of legislative necessity, providing for rapid (within five days) the consideration and adoption? There was no answer to this question during the discussion by state officials authorized by the President.

However, the norms of the Rules of the Supreme Council does not imply acceptance of the work of the same law-in-draft, if he had any of the subjects of legislative initiative submitted to the legislative agency.

The logical way out of this situation was the legislative rejection, on the recommendation of the profile parliamentary committee of the presidential law "On Combating Corruption".
