Against discrimination of people with disabilities

Deputies of the Supreme Council supported the legislative initiative of the government on introducing an amendment to the law "On social protection of disabled people". As explained by the author's representative, Deputy Minister for Social Protection and Labor Oleg Fedotov, the law will create a rule that prohibits any form of discrimination for people with disabilities.

The chairman of the responsible parliamentary committee, Sergei Cheban, noted that amendments to the law were discussed, including with representatives of public organizations that directly interact with people with disabilities and assist them.

The legislative initiative demonstrates the state's consolidated attitude to the problems of people with disabilities. Within the framework of the year of equal opportunities announced by the President, events aimed at supporting people with disabilities are held throughout the country.
