According to the Prosecutor, "A lot of work has been done"

In the course of today's plenary session, parliamentarians considered amendments to the package of legislations defining the functions and role of the state's main supervisory authority. Earlier along with the law "On the Prosecutor's Office" amendments were made to the Code of Criminal Procedure, the laws "On the Investigative Committee" and "On Operational Investigative Activities". The author of legislative initiatives was made by the President. One of the essential additions to the Basic Law is the return of the Prosecutor's authority to carry out public prosecution in court.

The work on legislations lasted for a year. The meetings of the working groups and the profile committee were attended by representatives of the Prosecutor's Office, the courts, the Investigative Committee, executive authorities.

According to the Speaker of the Parliament Alexander Shcherba, in the course of the discussion of the legislations, the opinions of all parties were heard.

Parliamentarians planned for the next plenary meeting final consideration of the package of legislations on the Prosecutor's Office, it will be held on March 18.
