Maternity Leave - Long Term

Leave to care for a child up to three years old will now be provided to prosecutors when assigning a pension for length of service. Today, the corresponding law-in-draft was considered and adopted by the parliament in the second final reading. The document amends several laws at once, including the Labor Code, the laws “On the pension provision of employees of prosecutorial offices with class ranks and their families” and “On the public service system”. The document is sent for signature to the President. The innovation will come into force after official publication.

The parliamentarian noted that the total time spent on maternity leave by employees of the prosecutor's office, which will be counted in the length of service, should not exceed 6 years.
