During an extraordinary meeting held today, the Presidium of the Supreme Council, its members voted in favor of the inclusion issue to the plenary session June 29 on the agenda for consideration of the President's veto for one of the standards adopted by the parliament amendments to the Electoral Code. We are talking about establishing by deputies of new parameter voter turnout in the presidential election - 25%.

Earlier this legislative initiative was proposed by deputies Igor Buga and Andrey Safonov. Legal innovation was supported by an absolute majority of deputies - the unanimous opinion of Parliamentarians was formalized in the form of the adopted law. The document was sent to the president for signing and official promulgation. However, the President disagreed and sent the law-in-draft for reconsideration of people's deputies.

A notable fact is that the president in sent to the Supreme Council justification of the veto insists on maintaining the same standards - 50% - although when considering the introduced the amendment, according to which proposed to establish turnout of 40%.

Deputies have to decide what to do with the presidential veto 29 June. Parliamentary committee on legislation decided to recommend to the Plenary to overcome the veto of the president, approved the law in the earlier adopted wording.

Earlier June 29 the main issue on the agenda will be the report of the government of the republic on the activities of the supreme executive authority in 2015.
