The first graduation of medical residents was celebrated in Tiraspol. 62 young doctors received diplomas of education. The solemn event was held at the Palace of the Republic. The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky, Vice Speaker of the Parliament Galina Antyufeeva, Chairman of the Government Alexander Rosenberg, Minister of Healthcare Kristina Albul and Rector of Pridnestrovian State University Vladislav Sokolov congratulated the young doctors on the completion of their two-year residency training.
The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky in his parting speech emphasized that the basis of successful medicine is the professionalism of doctors, their personal qualities and attitude towards the patient.
Residency training was introduced in 2021 in Pridnestrovie. Graduates of the Faculty of Medicine of Pridnestrovian State University were trained in internships prior to this. At the suggestion of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, the Supreme Council adopted the relevant amendments to the legislation. The purpose of the innovation was to improve the training of doctors and, accordingly, the quality of medical care.
The internship program provides general training for physicians. The residency program is designed for a more in-depth study of a particular medical specialty. Physicians-residents receive more theory and practice within two years under the guidance of an experienced curator in public medical institutions.
Vice-Speaker of the Parliament Galina Antyufeeva congratulated the graduates-residents on behalf of the Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov, on behalf of all parliamentarians. She emphasized that residency is a completely different, high-quality, high level of training.
Physicians-residents have 6 years of study at the Faculty of Medicine of Pridnestrovian State University and 2 years of residency. Obtaining a diploma has become a significant event in the life of young medical professionals who are ready to apply their knowledge and skills in practice, providing assistance and contributing to the development of medicine in Pridnestrovie.
Resident graduate Yana Katana will work as an ophthalmologist in Tiraspol. The practice took place in the ophthalmological department of the Republican Clinical Hospital and in the city polyclinics Number 1 and Number 3.
