06.09.2022

The draft budget for 2023 was discussed in the course of the meeting with the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky. The discussion was attended by the PMR Supreme Council Chairman Alexander Korshunov, deputies of parliamentary committees, leadership and members of the PMR Government. The ministers of the economic focus outlined the main macroeconomic indicators expected in Pridnestrovie in 2023. However, it is rather difficult to make a realistic forecast in the current foreign policy conditions as noted. The situation in the economy of the republic largely depends on the geopolitical situation around the perimeter of the republic.

The President noted that the country's economy must be kept afloat, while maintaining a course for development, the population must be provided with all resources.

As part of the discussion of the draft budget-2023, developments were heard that relate to corporate income tax, personal income tax and a fixed agricultural tax. They talked about the need to update the provisions of the law on state duty, the norms of which have not been comprehensively reviewed for more than 20 years, as well as on taxation in the sphere of individual entrepreneurship.

They noted at the meeting, that as for the expenditure part of the budget, this is the fulfillment by the state of its social obligations in the first place. Otherwise, budget expenditures depend directly on income.

The Supreme Council will study the document in detail and propose its amendments. Further work is traditionally carried out jointly by representatives of the legislative and executive authorities.
