Today, the meeting of the Chairman of the Supreme Council Mikhail Burla with a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Great Britain Sarah Swinford was held at the parliamentary site. The conversation was attended by Vice-Speaker, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Foreign Policy and International Relations Sergey Cheban, head of the specialized committees Galina Antyufeeva and Viktor Guzun.
In the course of the dialogue, the Chairman of the Supreme Council introduced the representative of the British Foreign Office to the structure, composition and tasks of the legislature of PMR. The speaker spoke about the inter-parliamentary relations, noting that the most intense relationship between parliamentarians of Pridnestrovie is established with the colleagues from the State Duma. The harmonization of the Pridnestrovian legislation with Russian is in process. Contacts with the Parliament of Belarus were established in the past year, cooperation with colleagues from Nagorno-Karabakh, South Ossetia and Abkhazia was continued.
Head of the Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Great Britain was interested in results of the recent meeting of the heads of parliaments of Moldova and Pridnestrovie and prospects for cooperation.
As the chairman of the committee on legislation Galina Antyufeeva emphasized that relevant issues related to the mutual recognition of documents. It is about recognition in the RM of certificates issued by PSU, civil birth, marriage, etc. According to the head of the legislative body of the Republic, potential cooperation in such spheres as health and education was discussed during his meeting with Moldovan counterpart. The possibility of joint infrastructure projects in the sphere of communication, providing emergency medical care was discussed.
They also talked about the possible measures to support the various spheres of the republic by the British Embassy, in particular in the sphere of education.
